The Ghana Police Service says it has arrested eight suspects linked to the killing of the Queenmother of Abamba in the Atebubu area of the Bono East Region. The National Identification Authority (NIA) says it is introducing major reforms to strengthen Ghana’s identity system. The changes will make biometric verification mandatory for all transactions. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has prevented a major disaster after a fuel tanker crashed and spilled diesel on the Konongo–Accra Highway. The incident happened on Tuesday, May 19, at Odumasi Three Lane near Konongo in the Ashanti Region.
