The government is reviewing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) timetable to give candidates more time between papers and reduce examination-related stress. The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike if the Ministry of Finance fails to release the dollar exchange rate needed to process book and research allowances for lecturers. Somali referee Omar Artan has pledged to officiate at the 2030 FIFA World Cup after returning home from the United States, where immigration officials denied him entry.
