Accra-based investigative group Tiger Eye PI has dismissed claims that its founder, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, produced and withheld an exposé on alleged corruption in Parliament. The statement comes in response to comments attributed to anti-corruption campaigner Vitus Azeem, who reportedly suggested that an undercover investigation into Parliament had been completed, previewed, and subsequently shelved. In its response, Tiger Eye PI described the allegations as “entirely false, contrived, and a figment of Mr. Azeem’s imagination.” The group challenged Mr. Azeem to provide concrete evidence, including the names of any Members of Parliament who allegedly previewed the investigation. The organisation stressed that…
Tech giant Oracle has carried out significant layoffs, with around 10,000 employees affected, as the company ramps up its investments in artificial intelligence (AI), according to reports from senior staff and social media posts. The cuts were not performance-related, with affected roles including senior engineers, architects, program managers, and technical specialists. Employees reported noticing fewer staff active on Oracle’s internal Slack system, while some received early-morning emails informing them of their termination, along with one month of severance pay. Former employees have described the layoffs as part of a mass reduction in force, but remain supportive of Oracle’s strategic direction.…

Deputy Minister Richard Gyan-Mensah announced the directive on March 31 in Accra during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat. He emphasized that the initiative is a process, not an event, aimed at boosting productivity beyond standard working hours and stimulating national economic growth. Godwin Eduidzi Tameklo, CEO of the NPA, highlighted the benefits…
Ghana’s inflation rate continued its downward trend in March 2026, falling slightly to 3.2% from 3.3% in February, according to the Ghana Statistical Service. Compared to March 2025, when inflation stood at 22.4%, this represents a remarkable 19.2 percentage point year-on-year decline. This sustained disinflation, now in its 15th consecutive month since January 2025, reflects growing macroeconomic stability in the country and the lowest inflation level recorded since the 2021 rebasing exercise. While the overall annual inflation shows significant improvement, monthly price movements indicate a more nuanced picture. Between February and March, prices rose modestly by 0.1%, suggesting only a…

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Ghana has urged organisations to implement intentional, system-wide reforms to tackle ongoing barriers hindering women’s career advancement, cautioning that improvements in hiring have not led to equal progress in leadership representation. Speaking at ACCA Ghana’s International Women’s Day 2026 event in Accra, themed “Making equity a reality in a changed world,” PwC tax expert Mrs. Ayesha Bedwei Ibe highlighted that although more women are joining the workforce, deep-rooted structural issues continue to restrict their progression into senior roles. Referencing global statistics, she pointed out that women occupy roughly 29% of senior leadership positions,…
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has directed contractors on new road projects to collaborate closely with the Ghana Highways Authority to ensure that all designs are aligned with Ghana’s planned electronic tolling system. He gave the directive during an inspection of ongoing road works in Accra, including the expansion of the Accra–Tema Motorway. The minister emphasized that incorporating tolling technology at the design stage would help prevent expensive modifications later and ensure a smooth rollout of the system when it becomes operational. He noted that a third-party firm will handle the design of the tolling infrastructure,…
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has cautioned that ongoing political interference continues to undermine the work of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), describing the institution as a constant target for those seeking to weaken its authority. Speaking at a national dialogue on the OSP’s focus on Tuesday, March 31, Agyebeng revealed that the office’s survival has partly depended on the support of John Dramani Mahama. He suggested that without such backing, the anti-corruption body might have been dissolved, especially amid reports that the Majority in Parliament had prepared a bill to scrap it. According to him, many politicians…

A Russian‑flagged oil tanker loaded with roughly 730,000 barrels of crude oil has reached the Cuban port of Matanzas, breaking a months‑long de facto U.S. fuel blockade that had left the island nation in a deep energy crisis. (Reuters) The vessel the Anatoly Kolodkin arrived on Tuesday, marking the first substantial crude oil shipment to dock in Cuba in over three months amid ongoing shortages. The delivery comes after U.S. President Donald Trump signaled last weekend that he “had no problem” with foreign countries sending fuel to Cuba to address urgent needs, even though Washington has maintained strict sanctions and…
