The National Health Insurance Authority has disbursed more than GH¢157 million in claims to healthcare service providers across the country in April 2026. According to a statement issued by the Authority’s Claims Directorate, the payments were made in two tranches GH¢43.7 million on April 14 and GH¢113.6 million on April 30. Fire has gutted the Monte Carlo Pub at Tema Community 10 in the Greater Accra Region, forcing emergency responders to rush to the scene to contain the blaze. The European Union has expressed its readiness to strengthen support for Ghana’s fight against illegal mining, widely known as galamsey. Operatives of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat have dismantled illegal mining equipment during an operation along the Butre River in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.
