Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has announced a 27-player provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Captain Portia Boakye headlines the squad alongside several established players who have been key members of the national team in recent years.

Also named in the provisional squad are Grace Asantewaa, Cynthia Konlan, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Princella Adubea.

Coach Bjorkegren has also handed opportunities to a number of promising young players as part of his preparations for the tournament.

The provisional list includes several players from the Ghana Women’s Premier League, including Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Their inclusion reflects the technical team’s continued recognition of standout performers in the domestic league.
