The Government of Ghana has received another group of Ghanaian nationals evacuated from South Africa following recent developments that raised concerns about their safety and welfare.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working with national security agencies, welcomed the returnees at the airport on Monday. The reception followed earlier government preparations to ensure their safe arrival and reintegration.

    Repatriation Follows Government Announcement

The evacuation comes after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced over the weekend that arrangements had been completed to bring home another group of Ghanaians affected by the recent situation in South Africa.

According to the ministry, the operation forms part of the government’s commitment to protecting Ghanaian citizens abroad. Authorities also worked closely with the South African government and Ghana’s diplomatic mission to coordinate the exercise.

    Government Reaffirms Commitment

The government says it remains committed to supporting the returnees while continuing to monitor developments in South Africa.

The repatriation follows growing concerns over the welfare of some Ghanaian nationals after recent incidents prompted government intervention.

Citizens Urged to Stay in Contact

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured the public that it will continue engaging relevant stakeholders to safeguard the interests of Ghanaians living abroad.

Furthermore, the ministry has encouraged Ghanaians who remain in South Africa to stay in regular contact with Ghana’s High Commission for consular assistance and official updates.

The latest evacuation marks another phase of the government’s response after announcing that Ghanaians who wished to return home would receive support through a coordinated evacuation and reception process.
