Absa Bank Ghana LTD has appointed Stephen Ato Frimpong as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective Thursday, October 1, 2026. He joined the bank as an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Absa Bank Ghana LTD on 1st March 2021.
Mr. Frimpong had since been appointed and is currently the Chairman of the Board’s Audit sub committee effective September 2024, and Chairman of the Board’s Social, Sustainability and Ethics sub-committee (SSEC) effective April 2025.
He served on the Board’s Remuneration as well as Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Payment Systems Committee (ITCS&PS) sub-committees and served as the Chairman of the Board’s Risk sub-committee from April 2021 to August 2024.
Before retiring in 2020, He previously worked with Kimberly-Clark Corporation, United States as Vice President and Chief Audit Executive of the company’s global internal audit function, including support for its compliance programmes and ethics-related investigations.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin, United States
