The Office of the Registrar of Companies has announced plans to strike off 318 companies from Ghana’s official register over regulatory non-compliance.

In a press release issued on May 19, 2026, and signed by Registrar of Companies Maame Samma Peprah, the ORC said the affected entities were listed in Volume 40 of the Companies Bulletin published on May 15, 2026.

According to the statement, the move is being undertaken pursuant to Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).

The Registrar explained that unless the affected companies provide sufficient justification within three months from the publication date, their names will be removed from the register and the companies dissolved.

“The names of the companies listed therein shall, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the register at the expiration of three months from the said date, and such companies shall thereupon stand dissolved,” the statement noted.

The ORC said the exercise forms part of ongoing regulatory and compliance enforcement measures aimed at maintaining the accuracy, integrity and reliability of Ghana’s Register of Companies.

The office also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting strong corporate governance standards and transparency within the country’s business environment.

Members of the public seeking further clarification were advised to contact the ORC call centre or engage the office through its official social media platforms.
