Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, urged Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to improve urban management systems to tackle sanitation, waste, flooding, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation.
She emphasized that solving these issues boosts investor confidence and productivity.
She spoke at the maiden Korle Klottey Municipal Business and Investment Forum, themed “Positioning Korle-Klottey as the prime business and investment destination in Ghana.”
The event showcased the municipality’s economic potential and priority sectors such as tourism, hospitality, real estate, green economy, market redevelopment, and infrastructure.
Ocloo highlighted recent flooding incidents as proof of the need for resilient communities and sustainable infrastructure, stressing that safe, well-planned environments attract long-term investment.
KoKMA Chief Executive Alfred Allotey-Gaisie described Korle-Klottey as Ghana’s commercial and financial hub, hosting major institutions and the AfCFTA Secretariat.
He outlined a vision for a world-class city with modern infrastructure, strong service delivery, and private sector partnerships.
MP Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings urged the assembly to invest in human capital, noting that true development is measured by meaningful employment, business growth, access to healthcare and education, and inclusive progress.
