Newly appointed head coach of the Ghana national football team, Carlos Queiroz, has pledged full commitment to his new role, describing his appointment not as a routine coaching assignment but as a national mission aimed at restoring pride, discipline, and unity within Ghana football.

In his first official remarks following confirmation by the Ghana Football Association, the experienced Portuguese tactician expressed gratitude and humility, signalling both appreciation for the opportunity and awareness of the high expectations attached to leading one of Africa’s most historic football nations.

Queiroz, who brings decades of international coaching experience, acknowledged the magnitude of the task ahead, particularly with Ghana preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He described his appointment as a continuation of a long professional journey shaped by global challenges, lessons, and competitive experiences across multiple footballing environments.

He emphasised that his philosophy remains anchored in passion and dedication, stressing that his approach to the Black Stars project will be driven by the same commitment that has defined his managerial career across different continents.

Central to his message was a strong call for unity, discipline, and collective ambition—values he identified as essential to rebuilding and sustaining success. While expressing deep respect for Ghana’s football heritage, he also conveyed confidence in the country’s pool of talent and long-term potential.

The former Real Madrid coach noted that achieving success will require a united effort from players, technical staff, and stakeholders, underscoring teamwork as a core pillar of his strategy moving forward.

In a defining reflection on his new responsibility, Queiroz framed the role as a duty that transcends employment, describing it as a personal mission to serve the game and inspire national pride.

His message is expected to resonate with supporters seeking stability and renewed direction after recent inconsistencies in the national team’s performances. As Ghana enters a crucial preparation phase ahead of major international competitions, his appointment sets the tone for a renewed push to re-establish the Black Stars as a competitive force on the global stage.
