Six key members of Ghana’s provisional squad for next month’s international friendly against Wales and the 2026 FIFA World Cup are yet to report to the Black Stars’ training camp in Cardiff.

The team continued preparations on Thursday at Dragon Park, with 22 players taking part in training as coach Carlos Queiroz intensified preparations ahead of the June 2 clash against Wales.

The players still absent from camp are:

    • Thomas Partey of Villarreal CF
    • Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao
    • Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City FC
    • Alexander Djiku of Spartak Moscow
    • Kojo Oppong Peprah of OGC Nice
    • Augustine Boakye of AS Saint-Étienne

Their arrival dates have not yet been confirmed.

The Black Stars currently have 22 players in camp, including captain Jordan Ayew and returning winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

    Goalkeepers in camp include:

    • Benjamin Asare
    • Lawrence Ati-Zigi
    • Joseph Anang
    • Solomon Agbasi
    • Paul Reverson

    Defenders present are:

    • Baba Abdul Rahman
    • Gideon Mensah
    • Marvin Senaya
    • Alidu Seidu
    • Abdul Mumin
    • Jerome Opoku
    • Jonas Adjetey

    Midfielders in camp include:

    • Elisha Owusu
    • Kwasi Sibo
    • Caleb Yirenkyi
    • Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

    Forwards available include:

    • Kamal Deen Sulemana
    • Christopher Bonsu Baah
    • Ernest Nuamah
    • Brandon Thomas-Asante
    • Prince Kwabena Adu
    • Jordan Ayew

The Black Stars have already suffered major setbacks ahead of the World Cup, with both Mohammed Kudus and Mohammed Salisu ruled out through injury.

Kudus reportedly suffered a quadriceps injury followed by a rehabilitation setback that ended his season prematurely, while Salisu ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in January and is expected to be sidelined for nine months.

There is, however, some encouragement for the technical team.

Ernest Nuamah has returned after nearly a year out with an ACL injury, while Baba Abdul Rahman rejoins the national team after an impressive season with PAOK FC.

Defender Abdul Mumin and Rennes full-back Alidu Seidu have also recovered from injury setbacks, while Ajax youngster Paul Reverson received his maiden senior call-up.

The Black Stars opened their pre-World Cup training camp on Monday at Dragon Park in Cardiff.

After facing Wales on June 2, Ghana will travel to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they are scheduled to begin their Group L campaign against Panama in Toronto.

They will then face England in Boston before concluding the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia.

The Ghana Football Association confirmed that preparations continue as the coaching staff await the arrival of the remaining six players.
