Speaking at the Ghana-China Investment Forum in Jinan on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the minister described Ghana as a stable and attractive destination for industrial investment and long-term business partnerships.
Addressing business leaders and investors, she highlighted Ghana’s geographical location and trade advantages, noting that the country offers companies direct access to the broader African market, including the more than 400-million-consumer ECOWAS region.
She further emphasized Ghana’s strategic benefit as host of the AfCFTA Secretariat, which provides investors access to a continental market of more than 1.4 billion people.
The minister also outlined ongoing economic reforms aimed at accelerating industrialisation and increasing value addition under the administration of John Dramani Mahama.
According to her, the recently enacted Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act 2026 has introduced reforms including the removal of minimum capital requirements for foreign investors and shorter investment approval timelines to improve the ease of doing business.
Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare highlighted several Chinese firms currently operating in Ghana, including Sentuo Group, KEDA Group, Sunda Group, and Zonda Tec Ghana, describing them as examples of Ghana’s growing attractiveness as an industrial destination.
She noted that Sentuo Group has emerged as a major Chinese investment success story in Africa, employing thousands of Ghanaians across sectors such as steel production, ceramics, recycling, and oil refining.
The minister also commended KEDA and Sunda for establishing the Twyford Ceramics factory in Ghana, noting that the company exports products to markets across West Africa, Europe, and the Americas while sourcing a significant portion of its raw materials locally.
She further praised Zonda Tec for contributing to the development of Ghana’s automotive industry through vehicle assembly and electric vehicle production initiatives.
