Veteran actress Patience Ozokwo says her famous villain roles are more than just acting; she believes God gave her that particular niche.

If you grew up watching Nollywood, there’s a good chance Mama G scared you at least once! From wicked mothers-in-law to witches and intimidating villains, Patience Ozokwo has played them all. But now, the veteran actress has finally explained why she keeps getting those roles, and her answer is not what many fans expected.
Mama G Says God Gave Her the Role
Speaking during a livestreamed interview with content creator Carter Efe, Mama G said she believes God created a special niche for her to expose evil and injustice through her character. She explained that although she personally hates injustice, war,r and conflict, she brings everything into her villainous roles to show audiences the consequences of wrongdoing. In other words, Mama G may be wicked on screen, but she says the message behind the wickedness is the real point.
Her Villain Roles Were Meant to Teach Lessons
According to the actress, her characters are designed to make viewers think about the consequences of living badly. She wants audiences to see what happens when people choose wickedness and what they stand to gain when they choose to do good. That perspective gives a whole new meaning to some of the characters that once had viewers hiding behind their pillows.
For years, Mama G has been one of Nollywood’s most recognizable villains. Now we know she wasn’t simply trying to scare us; she believed she was teaching us a lesson along the way.
