The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned of possible thunderstorms, cloudy conditions and reduced visibility in parts of the country over the next 24 hours.
The forecast, issued by the Central Analysis and Forecasting Office (CAFO) at 1700 UTC on June 18, covers the evening, night and morning periods of June 19.
GMet said most parts of southern Ghana will experience cloudy skies tonight, with thunderstorms and rain likely along the coast and nearby inland areas.
Northern Ghana is expected to remain partly cloudy, with generally stable weather conditions throughout the forecast period.
The agency also warned that mist and fog patches could develop over mountainous and forest areas during the early hours of Friday.
According to GMet, these conditions may significantly reduce visibility and affect road users, especially in areas prone to dense fog.
Motorists and commuters have been advised to exercise caution during the early morning period.
GMet said the forecast forms part of its impact-based weather monitoring system, which assesses weather conditions based on their potential effects on communities and infrastructure.
The system classifies risks according to their likelihood and severity to help improve preparedness and response.
Temperatures are expected to vary across the country’s ecological zones.
Coastal areas will record minimum temperatures of about 21°C and maximum temperatures of 26°C.
The forest and transition zones are expected to experience temperatures between 22°C and 27°C.
Northern Ghana will be slightly warmer, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 29°C.
GMet has encouraged the public to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions, particularly in areas expected to experience thunderstorms, rain, fog or poor visibility.
