The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has toured selected training centres under the One Million Coders Programme in the Greater Accra Region.

The exercise took place on Wednesday as part of efforts to assess the programme’s readiness and quality of delivery.

The initiative aims to equip young Ghanaians with coding and digital skills needed for the modern economy.

During the tour, the Minister visited the Accra College of Education in Ayawaso West, Gbegbeise JHS in Ablekuma West, and the Mamprobi Community Information Centre in Ablekuma South.

At the various centres, he interacted with trainees, facilitators, and programme coordinators.

The discussions focused on the progress of training, challenges facing participants, and the overall learning experience.

Mr. George also inspected infrastructure, internet connectivity, and the preparedness of the centres for both online and in-person training.

Addressing participants, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to digital skills development.

He described the One Million Coders Programme as an important part of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

According to him, the programme will help expand opportunities for young people and ensure they are not left behind in the global digital economy.
