Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has received major international recognition after being selected as a member of FIFA’s prestigious Technical Study Group (TSG) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The appointment reflects the growing admiration for the Ghana coach within global football circles and places him among a select group of respected football experts tasked with analysing the tournament at the highest level.

The FIFA Technical Study Group plays a key role during major competitions by studying every match in detail to identify tactical developments, playing systems, transitions, set-piece strategies, and performance trends.

Findings from the group are compiled into FIFA Technical Reports, which serve as important educational materials for coaches, analysts, federations, and football institutions worldwide.

In addition to tactical analysis, the TSG is also responsible for selecting winners of some of the tournament’s top individual awards, including the Golden Ball, Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Best Young Player honours.

Otto Addo’s inclusion highlights his growing reputation as a tactically astute coach with valuable experience both as a former player and manager.

His appointment is also seen as a significant boost for Ghanaian football, strengthening the country’s representation on the global football stage ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
