Nigerian music star Rema is set to headline performances at the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Los Angeles as part of a star-studded entertainment lineup unveiled by FIFA.

According to an announcement shared on FIFA’s official Instagram platform, Rema will perform at the tournament’s opening ceremony scheduled for June 12, 2026.

The Nigerian Afrobeats sensation will share the stage with several global music stars, including LISA, Katy Perry, Tyla, Future, and Anitta.

In its statement, FIFA said the lineup was selected to reflect the cultural diversity of the United States and the influence of its various diaspora communities on global music, entertainment, and popular culture.

The football governing body also highlighted music’s ability to unite audiences across different cultures and backgrounds throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, the tournament’s official anthem, Dai Dai, performed by Burna Boy and Shakira, is expected to be released on May 14.

FIFA further announced that the World Cup final on July 19 will feature the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show.

The performance is expected to be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay, marking a significant expansion of entertainment elements within the World Cup experience.

The inclusion of major international music acts reflects FIFA’s broader strategy to position the 2026 tournament as both a sporting and cultural spectacle on a global scale.
