Former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has asked the Black Stars technical committee to disregard sentiment and call up Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah for the 2026 World Cup.
The England-based pair has been the talk of the town ever since the Black Stars qualified for this year’s World Cup.
“The Black Stars are open to every Ghanaian who is eligible to play,” Nyantakyi told JoyNews, although neither of them participated in the qualifiers nor made it apparent that they would change allegiance following attempts by the FA over the years.

“Some people become sentimental and emotional—’Oh, this guy dumped Ghana’—but I’m looking for people who can help us reach our goals.
“People like Eddie Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi—let’s remove the emotions and give them an opportunity if the coach believes they can compete well.”
Nketiah, who has only played once for England’s senior team, has four goals in all competitions for Crystal Palace this season.
Hudson-Odoi earned three caps for England and scored three goals for Nottingham Forest this season.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will face Panama in their Group L opener, followed by matchups against England and Croatia.
