Yvonne Agyapong, daughter of former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, has received four major awards at Yale University in the United States.

The award ceremony took place on Monday, May 18, in Connecticut.

Yvonne Agyapong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science.

She received the Arthur L. Pulley LLB ’53 and Bernice Cossey Pulley DIV ’56 Research Award for advancing peace and justice in Africa and the Americas.

The award recognises students who contribute strongly to peacebuilding and conflict resolution through research and community work.

As part of the recognition, Yvonne has received a full scholarship to study anywhere in the world.

The award programme was established in 2004 to honour students who show commitment to peace and justice initiatives.

Yvonne’s latest achievement adds to her earlier academic success.

She previously graduated as valedictorian from Union Catholic High School at age 18.

She excelled in subjects including Mathematics, English, and Social Studies.

Another daughter of Kennedy Agyapong, Amanda Agyapong, also earned dual master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Her qualifications include an MBA in Neuromarketing from the Wharton School and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the Lauder Institute.

She graduated with distinction and focused her studies on Sub-Saharan Africa.
