“Waakye or Wellness? Reggie Rockstone Reveals Why IShowSpeed Chose a Shea Butter Massage Instead”

Ghanaian hip-hop legend Reggie Rockstone has finally addressed the buzz surrounding American streamer IShowSpeed’s absence from his much-talked-about waakye event during the YouTuber’s visit to Ghana. What many fans expected to be a lively cultural crossover instead turned into an unexpected moment of online chatterafter IShowSpeed was spotted opting for a traditional shea butter massage instead.

During IShowSpeed’s high-energy tour of Ghana, anticipation was high for his appearance at Reggie Rockstone’s waakye event, which was meant to showcase one of the country’s most beloved local dishes. However, the popular streamer did not show up, sparking speculation and mixed reactions on social media.

Fans quickly questioned why the internet star would miss a cultural food experience especially one hosted by a pioneer of Ghanaian hip-hop.

Addressing the situation, Reggie Rockstone explained that there was no disrespect or snub involved. According to him, IShowSpeed’s packed schedule, physical exhaustion, and curiosity about Ghanaian wellness traditions led him to choose rest and recovery instead.

The shea butter massage, a traditional form of relaxation and body care in parts of West Africa, was reportedly part of IShowSpeed’s effort to unwind after days of nonstop movement, performances, and public appearances.

Reggie emphasized that cultural immersion comes in many forms not just food and that wellness experiences are just as authentic a part of Ghanaian life.

As expected, social media had fun with the moment. While some fans joked about “choosing massage over waakye,” others defended the decision, noting the intense pace of IShowSpeed’s visit and praising him for exploring Ghana beyond the obvious tourist stops.

Many also applauded Reggie Rockstone for calmly clarifying the situation and shutting down unnecessary drama.

The incident highlights a bigger picture: IShowSpeed’s Ghana trip was about exploration, culture, and experience, not simply attending every scheduled event. From music to street interactions to traditional wellness, his visit showcased multiple sides of Ghanaian culture just not all at once.

In the end, there was no controversy just a scheduling choice fueled by fatigue and curiosity. As Reggie Rockstone made clear, sometimes cultural appreciation looks like enjoying a plate of waakye, and other times it means discovering the healing power of shea butter.
