    Real Madrid vs Man City

Real Madrid delivered a dominant performance against Manchester City in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, winning the first leg 3–0 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Spanish giants produced an impressive display in front of their home fans, with midfielder Federico Valverde scoring a sensational first-half hat-trick. The result gives Real Madrid a huge advantage heading into the second leg in England.

Federico Valverde was the standout player of the match. The Uruguayan midfielder scored three goals in the first half to put Real Madrid firmly in control of the tie.

Valverde opened the scoring in the 20th minute after receiving a long pass from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. He doubled the lead just seven minutes later and completed his hat-trick in the 42nd minute with an impressive volley.

The remarkable performance marked the first hat-trick of Valverde’s career and left Manchester City struggling to respond before halftime.

Despite starting the match with strong attacking pressure, Manchester City could not convert their chances. Real Madrid’s disciplined defense and quick counterattacks limited the English side’s opportunities throughout the game.

City attempted to respond in the second half, but goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made key saves to keep a clean sheet. Meanwhile, Real Madrid nearly extended their lead, though Vinícius Júnior missed a penalty that could have made the scoreline even bigger.

The heavy defeat leaves Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola with a difficult task ahead. City will need a major comeback in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium to stay alive in the competition.

Historically, overturning a three-goal deficit in the Champions League knockout stage is extremely difficult, making Real Madrid strong favorites to advance to the quarterfinals.

Real Madrid’s commanding victory puts them in a strong position to progress to the next round of the Champions League. Their combination of clinical finishing, organized defense, and tactical discipline proved too much for Manchester City.

If Madrid can maintain their advantage in the second leg, they will move one step closer to another deep run in Europe’s biggest club competition.

For Manchester City, the return match will require a near-perfect performance to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
