Papa Shee has officially announced plans for a second funeral ceremony in honor of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba. The announcement has sparked widespread public interest, with fans and industry players eager to once again celebrate the life and legacy of one of Ghana’s most influential musicians.

Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, died on 26 July 2025 at the age of 60. He left behind two wives: Akosua Serwaa, whom he married traditionally in 1991 and later under German civil law in 2004, and Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly called Odo Broni. His official funeral service took place on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at Heroes Park near the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

According to Papa Shee, the planned second funeral is intended to give Daddy Lumba’s admirers, colleagues, and well-wishers another opportunity to pay their final respects. He noted that the ceremony will be organized on a larger scale, reflecting the immense impact Daddy Lumba had on Ghanaian music and culture over several decades.

Daddy Lumba, whose music shaped generations and transcended borders, remains one of the most celebrated figures in the country’s entertainment history. His timeless songs, bold creativity, and unmatched stage presence earned him a loyal fan base at home and abroad. Many believe a second funeral is a fitting tribute to an icon whose influence cannot be confined to a single farewell.

Further details regarding the date, venue, and program of activities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. As anticipation builds, fans continue to share memories and tributes, reaffirming that Daddy Lumba’s legacy lives on long after his passing.
