The National Health Insurance Authority (National Health Insurance Authority) has suspended three credentialed pharmacies from the National Health Insurance Scheme after uncovering suspected fraudulent and abusive claims.
In a press statement posted on its official X page, the Authority said the decision followed a routine claims verification exercise under the National Health Insurance Scheme (National Health Insurance Scheme). The exercise identified possible irregularities linked to billing and the use of public funds.
The NHIA stated that the suspension is part of efforts to protect the integrity of the scheme and safeguard public resources. It added that monitoring of accredited providers will continue to prevent similar violations.
The Authority also warned all healthcare providers under the scheme to strictly adhere to approved procedures, stressing that any fraudulent activity will attract sanctions.
