Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced that he will donate two months of his salary to support the Ghana Sports Fund.
Speaking in Parliament, he emphasized the importance of passing the Sports Fund Bill into law, noting that the initiative has the potential to boost Ghana’s GDP and improve how sports are financed nationwide.
His pledge followed a contribution of GHC 100,000 from the National Investment Bank, which he praised as a strong show of support.
Adams said his donation, effective February 2026, is meant to demonstrate leadership and encourage others to contribute. He urged Members of Parliament, government officials, and the private sector to back the fund not just in principle but with concrete support.
The Ghana Sports Fund aims to raise resources for sports development, improve infrastructure, and enhance the welfare of athletes across the country.
