Award-winning gospel musician Herty Borngreat has opened up about the reasons behind her extended absence from the music scene, revealing that she intentionally stepped away from the spotlight to focus on raising her nine children and investing in her personal growth.
Speaking on Onua TV’s ShowTime programme, the celebrated gospel artiste said motherhood became her primary responsibility as her family expanded, making it necessary to put her music career on hold for a period.
According to Herty, being actively involved in the upbringing of her children was a decision she made deliberately, believing their formative years required her full attention and presence.
She disclosed that all nine of her children were born through natural childbirth, describing the journey as both demanding and rewarding.
“All my nine children were born through natural childbirth. It wasn’t an easy journey at all, and there were moments that tested my strength and resilience. Balancing motherhood with ministry, music and other responsibilities came with its own challenges, but by God’s grace, I was able to navigate them,” she said.
Despite her absence from the mainstream music scene, Herty explained that she never abandoned her ministry. Instead, she remained active in Christian service through church activities and outreach programmes while dedicating much of her time to family life.
The gospel singer also paid tribute to her husband, Bishop Daniel Borngreat, acknowledging his significant role in raising their children and supporting her throughout the years.
Together, the couple are raising seven daughters and two sons.
Known for popular gospel songs such as Bebree and collaborations with artists including Sarkodie, Herty assured fans that her passion for gospel music remains as strong as ever.
Her remarks suggest that while family responsibilities temporarily shifted her focus away from the music industry, she remains committed to her calling and continues to pursue ministry and music with renewed purpose.
