Dapper Responds as Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez and T.I Blaze Raise Fresh Royalty Allegations

The Nigerian music industry is witnessing another major dispute as several artistes accuse Dapper Music of issues involving royalties, contracts, and music catalogues.

A major Nigerian music-industry fight has erupted, and this time the money trail is at the center of the drama. Music executive DapperDam is facing allegations from former or current artistes including Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez and T.I Blaze, who have raised concerns about royalties, contracts and the handling of their music. Dapper has since responded, denying contractual breaches and challenging the artistes to undergo a forensic audit of the accounts.

    The Allegations

Shallipopi has made one of the strongest claims, alleging that Dapper is holding royalties connected to 46 songs and accusing him of selling his catalogue without proper accounting. Seyi Vibez and T.I Blaze have also raised separate concerns about their dealings with Dapper Music. The allegations have spread rapidly across social media, turning what might ordinarily have been a private contractual dispute into one of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment conversations.

    Dapper Hits Back

Dapper has rejected the accusations and says the claims should be properly investigated rather than decided through social media. His response includes a call for a forensic audit, effectively challenging the artistes to allow financial records and contractual arrangements to be examined. That move has added another layer to the dispute because the controversy is no longer simply about who said what online; it is now about whether financial records can establish exactly what each party is owed.

    What Happens Next

The dispute could have significant implications for the artistes and Dapper Music if the allegations lead to formal investigations or legal action. For now, both sides are presenting their versions of events, meaning claims about withheld royalties, catalogue sales and contractual breaches should be treated as allegations rather than facts.

What started as accusations on social media has quickly developed into a serious conversation about contracts, catalogues and how artistes are paid.

Do you think the Dapper Music dispute should be settled publicly or through a formal independent audit?
