Black Stars arrive in United States ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup

Ghana’s Black Stars have arrived in the United States to continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The team travelled from Wales on Wednesday after their international friendly against Wales in Cardiff and will set up camp at Bryant University in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Black Stars received a warm reception from Ghanaian supporters and football fans upon arrival.

Players took time to interact with fans, pose for photographs and sign autographs before heading to their training base.

The team’s arrival marks the start of the final phase of preparations ahead of the tournament.

Ghana heads into the World Cup on the back of a morale-boosting draw against Wales on Tuesday.

The result ended a difficult run for the Black Stars, who had suffered four consecutive defeats during the November 2025 and March 2026 international windows.

The draw was Ghana’s first positive result since October 2025 and provided a timely confidence boost before the tournament.

The Black Stars will play Jamaica on June 10 in their final warm-up match before the start of the World Cup.

The game will give the technical team another opportunity to assess the squad and fine-tune tactics ahead of the opening group match.

Ghana will begin its World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17.

The Black Stars are in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

The team will be aiming to reach the knockout stage of the tournament for the first time since the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

With preparations entering their final stage, hopes remain high that the Black Stars can make a strong impression on football’s biggest stage.
