The statement noted that the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) will comprise representatives drawn from various continental institutions and stakeholder groups. The mission forms part of the African Union’s broader commitment to promoting credible and transparent electoral processes across the continent.

The statement noted that the former Ghanaian leader is scheduled to depart Accra on Friday, March 13, ahead of the elections, and will return on March 18, 2026, upon completing his assignment.
