Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has sparked an online conversation after saying that anyone with the opportunity to leave Ghana legally should do so and never look back.

Nana Aba Anamoah has once again got Ghanaians talking. This time, it wasn’t because of an interview or a television appearance. It was because of a social media post in which she shared a blunt message about life in Ghana. Her advice?

If you have the opportunity to leave Ghana legally, leave. Don’t look back.

The post quickly spread across social media, with thousands of people weighing in.

    WHAT DID NANA ABA SAY?

In her post, Nana Aba encouraged Ghanaians with the legal opportunity to relocate abroad not to hesitate. Her comment came at a time when many young Ghanaians continue to discuss unemployment, the rising cost of living, and the search for better opportunities outside the country. Although she did not go into detail about what inspired the post, it immediately became one of the most talked-about topics online.

    MIXED REACTIONS ONLINE

As expected, the statement divided opinions. Many people agreed with Nana Aba, saying they would also leave Ghana if given the chance. Some argued that countless young people are struggling to find decent jobs despite having qualifications, while others said relocating offers better opportunities for career growth and a higher quality of life. Others, however, disagreed. Some users felt the comment could discourage young people from believing in Ghana’s future. They argued that while relocating is a personal choice, the country also needs skilled people who are willing to stay and help build it. The debate quickly moved beyond Nana Aba’s post and turned into a broader conversation about life in Ghana and why so many young people dream of moving abroad.

    WHY THE POST IS TRENDING

Nana Aba’s message comes at a time when conversations about migration have become increasingly common. In recent months, many Ghanaians have openly discussed leaving the country in search of better opportunities, while others believe meaningful change can only happen if people remain and contribute to national development. That is why her short statement resonated with so many people.

Whether you agree with Nana Aba Anamoah or not, one thing is clear: her post has reopened a conversation many Ghanaians have been having privately for years. For some, leaving is about chasing better opportunities. For others, staying and helping to build Ghana is just as important.

What do you think? If you had the chance to leave Ghana legally today, would you go or would you stay?
