The United States Embassy in Accra has announced an online auction of surplus U.S. government property and vehicles, inviting members of the public to bid for the available items from July 6 to July 8, 2026.

In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Embassy said bidding will open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, and close at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8.

According to the Embassy, all bids must be submitted through the official U.S. Department of State online auction platform. Interested buyers can visit the platform to review bidding instructions, register for the auction and view the full list of vehicles and other items available for sale.

Ahead of the online auction, the Embassy will allow prospective bidders to inspect the vehicles in person. The inspection will take place on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The viewing will be held at the Embassy entrance near the W. E. B. Du Bois Center in Accra, giving interested buyers the opportunity to assess the condition of the vehicles before submitting their bids.

The Embassy encouraged prospective bidders to carefully review the auction rules and available lots on the official auction website before participating.

The online sale forms part of the Embassy’s routine disposal of excess U.S. government property in Ghana.
