Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has dismissed reports questioning the credibility of results produced by its Central Laboratory, insisting that all tests conducted at the facility are accurate and reliable.
In a statement issued on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the hospital described recent media reports alleging inaccuracies in laboratory results as misleading and false.
According to management, the Central Laboratory remains one of the most advanced and well-equipped medical laboratories in Ghana and the West African sub-region.
The hospital said the facility is staffed by highly trained professionals and also serves as a key training centre for laboratory scientists across the country.
Management further noted that the laboratory holds the internationally recognised ISO 15189:2022 accreditation, which confirms its competence in medical laboratory testing and quality management systems.
“Given its standards, accreditation and track record, management assures all and sundry that the results generated by the laboratory are valid and reliable,” the statement said.
The hospital also reaffirmed its commitment to improving laboratory services to support diagnostics, clinical care and medical training.
It added that investments would continue to be made to strengthen the laboratory’s capacity to deliver timely and accurate services.
Patients and the public were further assured of the integrity and dependability of services provided by the Central Laboratory.
