Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, has reportedly been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office as part of an ongoing investigation.

The arrest follows a raid on his private residence in Kumasi last week.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Jumah was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 28, and remains with the investigative agency.

Insiders indicate that the arrest forms part of a broader probe into alleged breaches of public financial management procedures. Investigators are said to be examining how certain official resources were managed during his tenure at GIHOC Distilleries.

Authorities have yet to publicly outline the full scope of the investigation or announce any formal charges.

This remains a developing story, with further updates expected as investigations continue.
