Tensions are rising among National Service personnel across Ghana as growing frustration mounts over prolonged delays in the payment of their monthly allowances.

The Concerned National Service Personnel Association of Ghana (CNSPAG) has issued a strong statement condemning the situation, describing the delays as “unacceptable, unconscionable, and a national disgrace.”

According to the association, thousands of young graduates currently serving the nation are facing severe financial difficulties as a result of months of unpaid allowances. Many say they are struggling to meet basic needs such as transportation, rent, and food.

The group also raised concerns over the health and wellbeing of affected personnel, alleging that some individuals have been hospitalized due to stress, hunger, and related complications. CNSPAG described the situation as a betrayal of Ghanaian youth who are committed to national service despite harsh conditions.

Speaking on behalf of the association, President Kwadwo Ye-Large (Political Doctor) said patience among personnel has been exhausted, accusing relevant authorities of showing a lack of urgency and concern for their welfare.

CNSPAG has issued a final ultimatum to government institutions, including the National Service Authority and the Ministry of Finance, demanding immediate payment of all outstanding allowances.

The group has further warned of possible mass protest actions if their demands are not met, including a controversial “naked demonstration,” which they say would reflect the extreme hardship and neglect faced by service personnel.

“This is not a decision we take lightly,” the statement read. “It is a desperate response to prolonged suffering and institutional neglect.”

The association is urging swift intervention from authorities to prevent further escalation and avoid what it describes as a looming national embarrassment.
