“I Love President Mahama — His Humility Earned My Vote,” Kwaku Manu Reveals

Popular Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwaku Manu has openly expressed his admiration for President John Dramani Mahama, revealing that humility was the key reason he cast his vote in support of the former president.

In a heartfelt statement, Kwaku Manu described President Mahama as a leader whose character and down-to-earth nature resonate deeply with ordinary Ghanaians. He made the revelation on UTV’s Atuu show on 17 January 2026 that President Mahama’s humility, patience, and genuine willingness to listen to the concerns of ordinary Ghanaians were the key factors that influenced his decision.

He reflected on his own political journey, noting that he once voted strictly along party lines, particularly during the era of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held strong appeal for him.

Kwaku Manu explained that his decision to vote for Mahama was influenced less by political rhetoric and more by personal qualities he believes are essential for national leadership. According to him, Mahama’s humility sets him apart in a political landscape often dominated by ego and division.

He noted that Mahama’s ability to relate to people from all walks of life, listen to opposing views, and remain approachable even at the highest level of leadership made a lasting impression on him.

Recounting his travel experience outside Ghana, Kwaku Manu described Ghana as “heaven on earth” in terms of its abundant natural resources. He stressed that harnessing these resources effectively requires strong, capable leadership.

He went on to commend President Mahama’s current administration for appointing individuals based on merit and competence rather than personal connections or relationships.

Kwaku Manu’s comments add to the growing list of entertainers who have openly shared their political views in recent times. His statement has sparked conversations on social media, with supporters praising his honesty while others debate the role of celebrities in political discourse.

Regardless of differing opinions, his remarks highlight how personal values such as humility can strongly influence voter decisions.

Additionally, Kwaku Manu shared that a member of the administration had confided in him that the President had warned appointees that anyone who failed in their duties would be held accountable and made an example of. As Ghana continues to navigate its political journey, Kwaku Manu’s endorsement serves as a reminder that for many voters, character, humility, and human connection remain powerful factors at the ballot box.
