Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Leak, Next Gen Vision Taking Shape

The Galaxy S27 Ultra will use the ISOCELL HP6 sensor for the primary camera, according to tipster @UniverseIce. It is reportedly a 200MP sensor with a 1/1.3-inch optical format. That makes it similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s ISOCELL HP2 sensor. However, the tipster claims that Samsung will bring newer technologies with the new sensor, which could help achieve better image and video quality.

The first set of information about the Galaxy S27 series has started to emerge. The Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t bring any major camera hardware improvements, but it looks like the Galaxy S27 Ultra will. It could use a newer sensor for the primary camera, and its name has been revealed.

Samsung is reportedly planning to upgrade the ultrawide camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra as well. It is also high time it upgraded the mid-zoom camera. The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses a 10MP/12MP sensor with 3x optical zoom. Samsung should upgrade to a 50MP or a 200MP sensor.

Some other upgrades that Samsung should consider for the Galaxy S27 Ultra include support for 8K 60fps video recording, a bigger sensor for the super telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a square sensor for the front camera.

Reports claim that the company could bring 3D face scanning for biometric authentication using Metalenz’s Polar ID system, which uses Samsung’s ISOCELL Vizion 931 sensor. The company could remove the built-in S Pen from its phones, starting with the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
