    ECG announces planned power outages in five regions

    The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned and emergency maintenance works that will interrupt electricity supply in parts of the Greater Accra, Central, Ashanti, Eastern and Tema regions on July 20 and 21.

    According to ECG, the exercises are aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply and enhancing service delivery.

    Central Region

    On Monday, July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) will undertake maintenance at the Cape Coast Bulk Supply Point.

    Communities expected to be affected include the entire Cape Coast Metropolis, the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality, Yamoransa, Asebu, Edumfa, Fante Nyakrom, Assin Manso, Assin Kushia, Fosu Township, Efutu, Jukwa, Abrafo, Heman, Biriwa, Anomabo, Kromantse, Ekrabadze, Saltpond, Mankessim, parts of Ajumako, Ekumfi, Esuyeshia, Eyisam, Nanaben and surrounding communities.

    A separate maintenance exercise from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. will affect Kpomotey, Adam Nana, Ashalaja, Domeabra, Kwame Anum, Hobor, VRA, Nurses Quarters, Denchira, Tomefa, Police Farm and nearby areas.

    Ashanti Region

    On Tuesday, July 21, several communities will experience power interruptions due to planned maintenance.

    The affected areas include Nwamase, Apire, Hemang, Ampatia, Darko, Trede, Ampabame, Mpatasie, Bekwame, Pakyi Nos. 1 and 2, Semanhyiakrom, Sabin Akrofrom, Kyekyewere, Bebu, Mpasatia, Complex, Owabi, Bokankye, Odaso, parts of Brofoyedru, Adumasa, Afratia, Asaago, Kronom Cement, Boussie, Asuofua, Heman, Amoaman, Adankwame, Adugyama, Nketiah, Kokote, Abira, Namong, Barekese Headworks, Akyease Booster Station, Offinso, KCG, Ahenkro, Kodie, Apagya, Aduamoah, Denase, Akom, Mowire, Amoako, Boamang, Tetrem, parts of Awwiaa, Medoma, Buokrom, Buokrom Estate F-Line, Buokrom Estate D-Line, South Africa, Truba and surrounding communities.

    Tema Region

    Residents in parts of the Tema Region will also experience power outages on Tuesday, July 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    The affected areas include Tema International School, Don Bosco, New Tulaku, Bethlehem, Sebrepor, White Estates, Emef Estates, Coastal Estates, Goshen, Gbetsile, Adogonno, Abrantie, Dan Adams, First Choice, Basket, Inkoom Hospital, Frimpomaa Estates and nearby communities.

    Eastern Region

    ECG said Asesewa Township, Akateng, the Ghana Water Limited pumping station and surrounding areas will be without power on Tuesday, July 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Accra West Region

    Planned maintenance on Tuesday, July 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will affect Nsufa, NIC, Anyaa Deeper Life, Anyaa Market, Ofankor Post Office, Taifa Junction, Dome CFC, Petroleum, Star of the Sea, Page 2K, Pentecost University, Israel Park, Israel Filling Station, Ayigbe Junction and surrounding communities.

    An emergency maintenance exercise is also scheduled for Monday, July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Asofan White House, Poultry Farm, Amelia, Ayawaso Hills and nearby areas.

    ECG apologised for the inconvenience and urged customers in the affected communities to make the necessary arrangements while the maintenance works are carried out.

    The power distributor said the exercise forms part of its ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply across the country.
