ECG Announces Nationwide Deployment of Franchise Officers from February

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced plans to deploy franchise officers across the country beginning February, as part of efforts to strengthen revenue collection and improve service delivery.

The nationwide rollout is expected to enhance ECG’s operational efficiency by bringing services closer to customers, particularly at the community level. Franchise officers will support activities such as bill distribution, revenue mobilization, customer engagement, and the monitoring of power usage within their assigned areas.

According to ECG, the initiative forms part of broader reforms aimed at reducing system losses, curbing power theft, and improving accountability in the electricity distribution process. By working directly within communities, franchise officers are expected to bridge gaps between the company and consumers while ensuring better compliance with billing and payment systems.

The deployment is also anticipated to create employment opportunities and promote private sector participation in ECG’s operations. Selected franchise officers are expected to undergo training to ensure they meet the company’s operational standards and customer service expectations.

ECG has urged customers to cooperate with the franchise officers and to verify their identification before engaging in any official transactions. The company further assured the public that the initiative is designed to improve transparency and service quality nationwide.

The February rollout marks a significant step in ECG’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and deliver reliable electricity services across Ghana.
