Dr Amoakoh optimistic about NPP reconciliation efforts ahead of 2028

Deputy Spokesperson for the Bawumia Campaign, Dr Ekua Amoakoh, says recent interactions among party leaders, spokespersons and former aspirants indicate a positive and forward-looking atmosphere within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following its internal elections.

Dr Amoakoh stated that party communicators and spokespersons appear energised and ready to contribute towards the party’s future direction, describing the general mood as encouraging and collaborative.

According to her, engagements with various aspirants and party figures have been cordial, with many showing a willingness to work together despite previous internal competition.

She acknowledged that political contests naturally come with tensions, but noted that signs of reconciliation and healing are already becoming evident across the party.

“I think it’s been positive listening to the various spokespersons. They all seem eager to contribute the expertise of the teams they have,” she said.

Dr Amoakoh pointed to ongoing grassroots and constituency-level elections as evidence that reconciliation efforts are progressing steadily within the party’s structures.

She explained that in many constituencies, previous factional alignments are gradually fading, with members increasingly operating under common structures rather than separate camps.

According to her, the diminishing use of persistent factional labels and “teams” at the grassroots level reflects a growing sense of unity and shared purpose within the party.

“I think a lot of the healing has already happened, especially at the grassroots levels,” she added.

She further disclosed that recent visits and engagements involving aspirants and party stakeholders have been constructive and conducted in a positive spirit.

“All the visits have gone very well. Very positive,” she noted.

Dr Amoakoh also observed that while political communication may sometimes appear cautious publicly, internal relations within the party currently reflect cooperation, mutual respect and a collective determination to move forward.

She expressed optimism that the ongoing momentum would help the party put past disagreements behind it as attention shifts toward future electoral objectives.
