Ghana national football team is continuing preparations for their international friendly against the Mexico national football team as part of their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The team’s preparations in Mexico have been supervised by head coach Carlos Queiroz, who is being assisted by goalkeepers’ trainer Daniel Gaspar and set-piece coach and video analyst Gregory De Grauwe.

The friendly forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the upcoming World Cup campaign, where the Black Stars have been drawn alongside the Panama national football team, England national football team, and Croatia national football team in the group stage.

Twenty-two players have arrived in camp in Puebla for the international assignment, with the team having been in camp since Sunday.

Defenders Terry Yegbe, Nathaniel Adjei, and Jan Kwasi Gyamerah joined the rest of the squad on Tuesday, completing the contingent for the upcoming fixture.

The squad includes goalkeepers Benjamin Asare, Solomon Agbasi, and Ebenezer Adade; defenders David Oduro, Nathaniel Adjei, Razak Simpson, Terry Yegbe, Ebenezer Abban, Dacosta Antwi, Oscar Oppong, and Jan Kwasi Gyamerah; midfielders Majeed Ashimeru, Salim Adams, Emmanuel Agyei, Aziz Issah, and Ibrahim Osman; and forwards Joseph Opoku, Prince Amoako, Jerry Afriyie, Felix Afena-Gyan, Daniel Agyei, and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Ghana arranged the fixture as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico, Canada, and the United States will jointly host.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Mexico on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with kick-off set for 2:00 a.m. Ghana time.

The fixture will be played at Estadio Cuauhtémoc and will be the first of three friendly matches lined up for Ghana, with additional games against the Wales national football team and Jamaica national football team expected to follow.

Mexico is also using the match as part of their preparations for the global tournament, as both nations continue fine-tuning plans ahead of the competition.
