Accra Academy has announced that it will officially launch activities for its 95th anniversary celebration on May 29, 2026, under the theme “A Legacy of Pride, Purpose & Achievements.”
The launch event, which will be open to the public, is scheduled to take place at the Ridge Church Main Auditorium and is expected to attract alumni, students, parents, staff, dignitaries, and other stakeholders associated with the institution.
According to the Joint 95th Anniversary Planning Committee, the event will mark the beginning of a year-long programme aimed at celebrating the school’s rich history while setting the stage for its centenary anniversary in 2031.
The ceremony will be chaired by Edward Doe Adjaho.
Haruna Iddrisu is expected to deliver the keynote address, while Nana Oye Bampoe-Addo will attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Planned activities for the launch include the unveiling of the official 95th anniversary logo, the presentation of a calendar of events, goodwill messages from stakeholders, and the screening of a documentary highlighting the school’s history and achievements.
Organisers also indicated that a fundraising appeal would be held to support infrastructure projects at the school, alongside the sale of anniversary merchandise to support activities planned throughout the celebration period.
Founded in 1931, Accra Academy is widely recognised as Ghana’s first private secondary school established by Ghanaians.
