The gospel musician has rebranded her social media presence as Lioness Ministries, adding another dramatic turn to the long-running marriage saga involving Bishop Daniel Obinim.

A New Name, A New Chapter?
Florence Obinim has made a striking change to her social media identity, dropping the “Obinim” surname from her page and rebranding it as Lioness Ministries. The move has immediately caught attention, coming amid months of speculation surrounding her marriage to Bishop Daniel Obinim. While the name change alone does not officially confirm that the marriage has ended, the timing has naturally raised questions about whether Florence is beginning to separate her personal and professional identity from her husband’s.
Florence Had Already Spoken About the Name
Interestingly, this is not the first time Florence has addressed the possibility of dropping the Obinim name. In a June 2026 interview, she reportedly said she would be willing to remove the surname from her brand if her husband requested it. That statement has now taken on a completely different meaning following her latest social media rebrand. Her page now prominently uses Lioness Ministries, although her bio reportedly still identifies her as Dr Florence Obinim, musician and preacher.
The Marriage Saga Continues
The name change comes after reports earlier this month that Florence’s family had allegedly taken steps towards ending the couple’s traditional marriage after about 22 years. Bishop Obinim subsequently outlined conditions under which reconciliation could happen, including an apology from Florence and changes involving people around her. Florence had previously indicated that she was emotionally exhausted and prepared to accept divorce if that was what her husband wanted. Now, with her public branding changing, fans are once again asking whether the relationship has reached a point of no return.
For a woman who has spent years publicly carrying the Obinim name, changing the identity of her ministry is certainly a significant move. Still, it is important not to mistake a social media rebrand for official confirmation of divorce.
Do you think Florence Obinim’s new “Lioness Ministries” identity is simply a brand change, or is it a sign that she is preparing for life without the Obinim name?
