An unidentified body has been recovered at Alogboshie following the heavy rains and flooding that hit parts of Accra earlier this week.
The body was found on Wednesday, July 1, after floodwaters receded in sections of the community.
The cause of death has not yet been established. However, the discovery comes days after Monday’s downpour caused widespread flooding across the capital.
The body remained at the scene as of Wednesday, awaiting the arrival of police officers with a body bag to transport it to the mortuary.
The latest discovery adds to the growing human toll from the floods.
The Ghana National Fire Service has already confirmed 12 deaths linked to the flooding, which left several roads underwater, damaged homes, and stranded commuters for hours in many parts of Accra.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the latest death.
