UKGCC, AmCham Use Music Platform to Drive Social Impact

The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC), in partnership with American Chamber of Commerce Ghana, has hosted a special edition of “Jazz & Jive,” a networking and fundraising event organised to mark International Jazz Day.

Held at the Four Points by Sheraton Accra Hotel, the event brought together business executives, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders for an evening that combined live music, corporate engagement, and philanthropy.

Beyond its entertainment value, the gathering served as a platform to strengthen business relationships while supporting a meaningful social cause.

Speaking at the event, Adjoba Kyiamah said the latest edition builds on the success of previous jazz-themed initiatives organised by the chamber.

According to her, the event merges cultural celebration with purposeful giving, with proceeds directed toward supporting the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital through the acquisition of critical neonatal equipment aimed at improving newborn healthcare.

She also encouraged continued contributions toward the initiative, emphasising the importance of collective support for healthcare delivery.

Addressing the significance of the partnership, Doris Kafui Afanyedey highlighted the longstanding diplomatic, commercial, and cultural ties between Ghana, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

She noted that the collaboration between the two chambers reflects a shared commitment to partnership and collective impact, arguing that collaboration often delivers stronger outcomes than competition.

Organisers say the event demonstrated how business communities can leverage culture and corporate engagement to address social challenges while promoting stronger institutional relationships.

The programme also reinforced the UKGCC’s broader objective of promoting sustainable business growth alongside community development initiatives.

The event received sponsorship support from Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, Axis Pensions Trust, Forms Capital, and Four Points by Sheraton Accra, contributing to the success of the initiative.
