President John Dramani Mahama has extended warm wishes to Ghanaians as the holy month of Ramadan begins. In a message released on Friday, February 20, he and his wife, Lordina Mahama, wished Muslims across the country a spiritually fulfilling and blessed Ramadan.

In his statement, President Mahama described Ramadan as a “special time; a month of reflection, renewal, and coming together as one community.”

He urged Muslims who observe the fast to pray for good health, mental tranquillity, and an abundance of mercy throughout the month, as well as to seek iman strengthening and heart cleansing.

He noted that while fasting involves abstaining from food and drink, the true essence of the month lies in showing kindness to all, particularly to those less fortunate. President Mahama also called on Ghanaians to use the holy month to foster unity, love, and peace within their communities.

“Let us strengthen the bonds that bind us and deepen our sense of togetherness across our beloved nation,” he said in the message.

President Mahama concluded his Ramadan speech by saying, “From my family, we wish you a blessed and spiritually rewarding Ramadan. Happy Ramadan! May your worship be accepted by Allah. As Muslims throughout Ghana get ready to start the thirty-day time of prayer, fasting, and introspection, he delivered this message.
