M.anifest reveals he hasn’t filed for TGMA nomination since 2017

Prolific lyricist and rapper, M.anifest, has opened up on when last he filed for nominations at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The rapper’s honest disclosure comes after content creator Scanty asked the rapper whether he submitted his song “Wine & Blues,” which features Arathejay, for consideration as “Collaboration of the Year” at the 27th TGMA.

The song, ‘Wine & Blues’ is enlisted on the “New Road and Guava Trees” album released by M.anifest in March 2025.

“Bro you no file wine & blues for collab of the year?” Scanty asked.

In response, M.anifest revealed that it has been close to a decade since he last submitted any of his works for consideration for awards.

M.anifest has generally refrained from actively participating in the awards scheme in recent years.

“I haven’t filed for anything since 2017. Love to everyone tho,” he replied in a post on X on March 17, 2026.

His revelation comes just days after organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards announced nominees for the 27th edition of the scheme on March 14, 2026.

In the year he last submitted his works for TGMA consideration, M. Manifest reached a career turning point in 2017.

He defeated Flowking Stone, E.L., Medikal, Yaa Pono, and Sarkodie to win “Best Rapper of the Year” at the 18th Ghana Music Awards.

The event was held at the Accra International Conference Centre in April 2017.

His victory followed one of the biggest rap feuds Ghana had ever seen in 2016, when M.anifest made fun of Sarkodie in his song “godMC” after the latter released his song “Bossy” which threw jabs at M.anifest.

I haven’t filed for anything since 2017. Love to everyone tho. https://t.co/NmknMmvw0R
