The Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C., has announced plans to revive its community outreach programme this October, bringing passport and visa services directly to Ghanaian communities across the United States.
The initiative forms part of efforts to enhance service delivery at the Mission following recent restructuring.
Deputy Head of Consular Affairs, Mr. Tsatsu Selormey, disclosed the development during GhanaFest ’25 in Dallas, Texas, where he reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to efficient, transparent, and accessible consular services.
Mr. Selormey explained that the outreach programme aims to assist Ghanaians living in cities and states far from Washington, D.C., where travel to the Embassy can be challenging.
He cautioned the public against using middlemen for passport and visa applications, urging applicants to deal directly with the Embassy to ensure timely processing. He also encouraged Ghanaians in the diaspora to strengthen community bonds and continue promoting Ghana as a hub for investment, culture, and tourism.
