The court hearing the case involving Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba has ordered the prosecution to amend two fraud-related charges after finding defects in the particulars provided.
The judge ruled that Counts 9 and 14 did not contain enough information to properly notify the accused of the allegations of defrauding by false pretence.
“I do not consider Count 14 to contain enough particulars to inform the accused about the charge of defrauding by false pretence. Although the prosecution mentioned a representation, the prosecution did not indicate that it was made by false pretence,” the judge stated.
The court noted that the same issue affected Count 9 against the second accused person.
Following the ruling, the court directed the prosecution to amend the two counts to correct the defects identified.
However, the judge allowed the rest of the case to continue, meaning the remaining charges will proceed as scheduled.
The matter has been adjourned to July 29, 2026.
Meanwhile, lead counsel for Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has served notice that he intends to appeal the court’s decision.
The legal team is expected to pursue further action on the ruling as the case continues.
