Chelsea will play holders Paris St-Germain in the Champions League round of 16, while Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the knockout stages for a fifth straight season. There won’t be any all-English matches, despite six Premier League teams advancing to the round of 16, with leaders Arsenal playing Bayer Leverkusen.

Tottenham has been drawn against Atletico Madrid, Liverpool will play Galatasaray, while Newcastle United will play Barcelona. The first legs will be played on 10 and 11 March, with the second legs on 17 and 18 March. Newcastle’s first leg against Barcelona will take place at home, while all of their Premier League rivals will play their second leg at home after automatically qualifying for the round of 16. Chelsea’s tie with PSG is a rematch of last year’s Fifa Club World Cup final, when the Blues beat PSG 3-0 in New Jersey.

In this season’s league phase, Man City, Newcastle, and Liverpool all faced off against one another. If Newcastle and Tottenham both progress, they will meet in the quarter-finals, as will Chelsea and Liverpool in the other half of the draw. The final will be played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on Saturday, 30 May.
