The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has upgraded a transformer at the Ridge Bulk Supply Point (BSP) in the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to improve electricity supply and reliability in the area.

Acting Managing Director of ECG, Kwame Kpekpena, said the replacement was fast-tracked with support from the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor.

According to him, the improvement is expected to enhance stable power delivery across the Ashanti Region and reduce outages experienced by consumers.

“I assure our stakeholders that ECG is on course to completing works they promised to complete within three to six months in the region,” Ing. Kpekpena said during the Minister’s tour of ECG facilities in Ashanti on Friday.

He added that ECG is also working on other scheduled projects and facilities to ensure constant and reliable electricity supply to the public.

Ing. Kpekpena further praised Dr. Jinapor for his continued support, stressing that ECG remains committed to improving service delivery for customers.

The transformer replacement at the Ridge BSP forms part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at stabilising electricity distribution in the Ashanti Region.
