Lawyers for controversial televangelist and social media personality Nana Agradaa have strongly denied reports suggesting that a court has ordered her to pay gospel musician Empress Gifty an amount of GH₵100,000.

In a statement addressing the circulating claims, Agradaa’s legal counsel described the reports as false, misleading, and not supported by any court ruling. According to the lawyer, no judgment or directive has been issued by the court requiring Agradaa to make any financial payment to Empress Gifty.

“The information being circulated is inaccurate,” the lawyer stated. “At no point has the court ordered our client to pay GH₵100,000 or any amount whatsoever to Empress Gifty. We urge the public to disregard these claims.”

The reports had gained traction on social media, with several blogs and commentators alleging that the court had ruled against Agradaa in a legal dispute involving the gospel singer. The claims sparked widespread discussion online, with many users reacting to what they believed was a concluded legal decision.

Nana Agradaa, born Patricia Asiedua, is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence after being convicted on 3 July 2025 by an Accra High Court on charges of fraud and charlatanic advertising.

The court found that she had deceived several members of her congregation by promoting an alleged ability to “double money.” Her arrest in 2022 followed the emergence of a viral video showing distraught church members claiming they had lost large sums of money.

Agradaa’s legal team clarified that the matter remains unresolved and emphasized the importance of relying on verified court proceedings rather than speculation. They also cautioned media outlets and the public against spreading unverified information that could mislead the public and damage reputations.

The dispute between Agradaa and Empress Gifty has attracted significant public attention due to the high-profile nature of both personalities and their previous public exchanges. However, the lawyer stressed that legal processes must be allowed to take their course without misinformation influencing public perception.

As of now, no official court documents have been made public to support the GH₵100,000 payment claim, and Agradaa’s legal team maintains that reports suggesting otherwise are entirely unfounded.
